Fitness

I don't believe that I have ever covered fitness on Bonjour Emily, to be completely honest it has never been something which I was concerned about. Following problems with my knees through my school years and getting to sit out during PE classes (I'm not going to lie, that was a blessing. There aren't many 15 year old girls who can't wait for cross country in the pouring Glasgow rain!) has meant that as far as regular exercise goes my walk from the bus station to work is as good as it gets.

This has always fine with me, I have a very fast metabolism so have never carried excess weight and have always been able to eat what I want without worrying about not fitting into my jeans the next morning. But I seem to have hit a turning point; I'm slim but not fit in the slightest. I struggle to touch my toes when standing with my feet together and I'm not okay with it anymore.

I'm not going on a crash diet and I'm not going to throw myself into a serious exercise routine straight away because I am not going to give up in a couple of weeks. I'm determined to keep up, change my eating habits to healthier ones that my body is happy with and I am going to exercise.

I will never be able to run a marathon, but I want to be as fit as I can be.

  1. Great post Emily. Crash diets and extreme exercise never work in the long term. You are really so much better focusing on the health aspects and making little changes that will last :)
